We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer at Avantis (Lumena Labs).

Looking for a cracked backend engineer who can own features end to end and help scale the services powering one of the leading perps platforms on Base (chain). Ideal profile: 5+ years backend experience, strong TypeScript/Node.js, production distributed systems experience, and real Web3/EVM knowledge. Primary stack: TypeScript/Node.js Also important: Python, Kafka, Redis, distributed systems, Web3 infra, EVM chains Bonus: Rust Perps / derivatives / trading systems experience is highly preferred. Strong blockchain knowledge is required. You’ll work on real trading infra: execution flows, positions, liquidations, pricing, risk logic, onchain/offchain coordination, and high throughput backend services. This is not a generic CRUD backend role. We need someone who can think deeply, ship fast, debug hard problems, and take ownership. how are you handling the latency requirements for liquidations and pricing on base using typescript, or is that where the rust bonus starts coming into play?
